Why I Started Dogopo – Dr. Gaurav Gulati

I am Dr. Gaurav Gulati, founder of Dogopo, and like many dog parents, my life changed because of the love of a dog.

There is a moment every pet parent knows. It is not dramatic or particularly special. It is just your dog looking up at you with those eyes that carry absolutely no agenda, and you think: I would do anything for this creature, because he is my son.

That moment, repeated a thousand times, is why Dogopo exists.

I did not create Dogopo because I saw a business opportunity. I started it because I am a dog dad, and like many others, I spent years looking for a place that truly understood this bond, not as a transaction, but as a way of life.

Dogs sleep on our beds, travel with us, become part of our family photos, and for many of us, they are the reason we come home smiling after a difficult day. Yet the information, products, and communities built around dogs have not always kept pace with how deeply we actually feel about them.

I wanted to change that.

When people first hear about Dogopo, they often think it is just a pet store. And yes, we do offer products, but honestly, we have only just started.

We launched our very first product on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2, 2026: the Dogopo Neem & Aloe Vera Shampoo. After that came our Massage Oil for Dogs, followed by T-shirts for pet parents. We are now working hard to come up with new ideas, products, and designs every week, and sometimes even sooner.

It has been less than 50 days since we started launching products, and I cannot explain how motivating it has been to see the response. The orders, messages, queries, and excitement around the brand have given us a lot of energy to keep moving forward and to bring more meaningful products for dogs and dog parents.

But Dogopo was always meant to be more than just a store.

Dogopo.com is our dog blog and content platform, where we write about dog care, behaviour, emotions, lifestyle, and the beautiful relationship people share with dogs.

At the same time, Dogopo.store is where we are building products for dogs and dog parents, including our shampoos, massage oils, T-shirts, and many more ideas that we are currently working on.

A store can sell you a product. What I wanted to create was a platform, a place where dog parents could find trustworthy information, discover thoughtfully designed products, and feel part of a community that shares the same love for dogs.

Because here is the truth: when your dog is unwell, anxious, or aging, you are not looking for a sale. You are looking for someone who understands.

There is another side of Dogopo that I am most proud of, and it has nothing to do with revenue.

India is home to millions of stray dogs. Most of them are overlooked by the systems and industries built for pets. They do not have dog parents to speak up for them. They survive because of kind people: vets who treat them for free, rescue teams who work quietly without recognition, and volunteers who feed them every single day.

From the start, I made a promise: 5% of Dogopo’s profits will go directly to supporting the people and groups that help stray dogs. This includes vets, rescue teams, feeding programs, ambulance services, rescuers, and animal welfare organizations.

This was never an afterthought. It is one of the biggest reasons Dogopo has a soul.

When someone buys a grooming product or anything else from Dogopo, they are not just making their own dog happy. Somewhere, they are also helping another dog get food, medical care, rescue support, or simply a better chance at life.

That connection between the dog sleeping safely at home and the dog surviving on the street is what Dogopo is truly about.

What I Believe

I have spent my career helping people and businesses build brands with real meaning. What I have learned, time and again, is that the brands people truly love are not the ones with the smartest campaigns. They are the ones built on a real belief.

Dogopo’s belief is simple: every dog deserves kindness, dignity, and love, whether they live in a home or on the street.

This belief guides every product we select, every article we write, and every partnership we form.

Dogopo is still growing, and honestly, we are only getting started. But one thing will always remain the same: this brand will always be built with love, compassion, and respect for dogs.
