✨ A special day passed relatively quietly this past weekend…
Saturday, September 26 was HR Professional Day.
Since HR professionals are often among the unsung heroes of an organization, that almost seems fitting.
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with HR professionals in hundreds of organizations around the world. I’ve seen firsthand the enormously important work they do behind the scenes, often with little recognition.
Different countries.
Different cultures.
Different industries.
Yet the same qualities emerge again and again: a genuine commitment to helping people succeed, the courage to have difficult conversations, and the judgment to balance what’s right for an individual with what’s right for the organization.
Much of HR’s best work is, by its very nature, invisible.
• A difficult situation gets resolved.
• A new hire succeeds.
• A struggling leader turns a corner.
• A succession happens smoothly.
• A team gets stronger.
What we may not always see is the role HR played in helping make those outcomes possible.
So perhaps HR Professional Day shouldn’t pass quite so quietly. 👏
💬 I’d love to hear from you: Which HR professional has made a difference for you? Give them a well-deserved shout-out below — and tag them so they know it.
